I have added the Private Messages and Subscription modules to the site. So, you can set up e-mail notifications and also send other users PMs.
I've also added a tab in your user profile where you can add in information about yourself. It's under Edit->Personal Information on your profile page.
Let me know if I've configured anything incorrectly. This software has a lot of options.
